Location: Akron, OH
Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 6:00 AM – 4:30 PM (Possible overtime on Fridays)
Pay Rate: $18–$22 per hour
Job Summary
This role involves reading specifications, building custom crates, and preparing items for shipment in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Read blueprints, shipping notices, and specifications to determine crate design and materials
- Measure, cut, and assemble wood components
- Build crates for large or irregularly shaped products
- Secure and pack products using appropriate materials
- Bolt heavy items to skids or crate bases as needed
- Wrap, pad, and protect products for shipment
- Nail and seal crates, apply metal banding
- Label crates with shipping and product information
- Verify quantities against shipping orders
- Weigh completed crates
- Move finished crates to shipping areas
- Transport materials and supplies within the workspace
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications
- Strong measuring and basic carpentry skills
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Problem-solving and attention to detail
