To excel in this role, you need over 5 years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting, along with an Associates Degree or equivalent technical qualification, and/or experience. Strong mathematical skills and mechanical reasoning are crucial for troubleshooting and repairing various systems including AC & DC motors, PLCs, and power distribution systems. Effective communication in English and basic computer skills are essential for managing work orders and interacting with team members. Experience with various measuring tools is preferred. The role requires flexibility to work overtime and odd hours during emergencies, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.
A Day In The Life
- Troubleshoot and repair AC & DC Motors and Control Circuits
- Read/Interpret Electrical, Electronic, Hydraulic, Pneumatic, and Instrumentation Drawings, Schematics, and Technical Manuals
- Install, Troubleshoot, Maintain and Repair PLC and/or DCS Hardware, Software and Controls
- Maintain 480/240 Volt 3 phase MCC and Power Distribution Systems
- Replace Electrical Control Devices (Limit, Proximity and Photo Switches, Pneumatic and Hydraulic Valves, etc.)
- Move and set up equipment as needed
- Wire equipment and electrical drops within a high voltage area
- Install and repair electrical, mechanical and pneumatic industrial equipment
What will help you thrive in this role?
- Must have 5 years industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Education: Associates Degree, trade or technical school diploma and/or journeyman's card in related trade
- Mathematical Skills: Must have good math skills to be able to add, subtract, multiply, use decimals and fractions.
- Mechanical Aptitude/Reasoning Ability: Able to troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve issues with equipment operation
- Communication Skills: Able to communicate in English for written and verbal communication, including the ability to listen and speak effectively to understand and communicate the needs of customers and coworkers. Ability to read and interpret documents.
- Computer Skills: Basic computer skills to look up work orders and interact with programs to obtain key work order requirements.
- Previous experience with measuring devices (tape measures, micrometers, calipers etc.) preferred
- Must be prepared to work overtime and odd hours to accomplish the necessary tasks whenever an emergency that threatens production or safety arises.
- Detail oriented with the ability to work independently.
- Ability to properly use required hand tools, power tools, hoists, cranes, alignment equipment, measuring devices and testing equipment
- Ability to utilize catalogs and vendor contacts to research and requisition parts and materials as needed.
- Regular, full-time, predictable onsite attendance per the posted schedule is an essential function of this role.
