Crate Assembly Associate

Monday-Friday, 7:00 am to 3:00 pm
Position Summary
Crate Assembly Associates build, assemble, and prepare wooden crates, pallets, and packaging structures used to protect industrial parts and equipment for shipment and storage. This role involves hands-on work with tools and heavy materials in a warehouse/industrial environment, working as part of a team to meet daily production goals and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Assemble wooden crates, pallet bases, and support structures per specifications and job tickets

Read and follow assembly instructions, drawings, and measurements to build crates that meet customer and shipping requirements

Operate hand tools and power tools safely and accurately

Ensure packaging components are cut, fitted, nailed, and secured correctly

Inspect finished crates for quality, strength, and compliance before staging for shipment

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area throughout the shift

Load or assist with moving finished crate assemblies into staging areas or onto pallets for shipping

Communicate with supervisors about inventory needs, material issues, or production delays

Adhere to all safety policies and procedures in the warehouse/production area
Qualifications

Prior experience with woodworking, crate assembly, or industrial packaging preferred but not required
MUST BE ABLE TO READ TAPE MEASUREMENTS -
Comfortable using basic hand and power tools (training provided)

Ability to stand, bend, lift, and carry moderate to heavy materials throughout the shift

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to producing high-quality work

Good communication and teamwork skills

Dependable attendance and willingness to work within set shift schedule
Work Environment

Warehouse or industrial packaging facility with exposure to wood dust, tools, and equipment

Team-oriented production environment with consistent pace to meet customer demand
Physical Requirements

Regularly lift and move materials up to moderate weights throughout the shift

Stand, walk, and bend frequently while performing assembly tasks
