Job title: Injection Mold Technician

Salary $21-$25 (plus $.50 shift differential)
Seeking an experienced Injection Molding Process/Setup Technician to safely perform mold changes, set up presses, and ensure efficient production startups. The role involves troubleshooting molding defects, maintaining process stability, and verifying part quality to meet production and scrap targets. Candidates will document process settings, support preventive maintenance tasks, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to maintain smooth operations. Ideal applicants have at least two years of thermoplastics injection molding experience, strong problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and 5S standards.
JOB DUTIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:
- Perform mold changes safely and consistently, following documented steps
- Set up and start up presses, including purging and material changes
- Diagnose and correct process issues (short shots, flash, burns, splay, warp) using structured problem-solving
- Verify part quality and process capability; escalate issues appropriately
- Document settings, deviations, and corrective actions for clean shift handoffs
- Conduct preventive tasks (nozzle/heater checks, alignment, clamp/tonnage verification)
- Collaborate with maintenance, quality, and production teams to meet schedule and scrap targets
- Maintain a clean, organized work area; follow all safety protocols
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 2 years of Injection Molding (thermoplastics) experience as a Process Tech/Setup Tech
- Experience with common press brands (e.g., Husky, Engel, Nissei, Milacron)
- Proven ability to perform mold changes and process troubleshooting without constant supervision
- Familiar with common molding defects and corrective actions
- Comfortable reading job travelers, setup sheets, and basic prints
- Clear written and verbal communication across shifts
- Knowledge of EOAT, auxiliary equipment (dryers, loaders, thermolators), hot runner basics
- Basic understanding of scientific molding principles (fill time, pack & hold, V/P transfer)
- Safety-minded; lockout/tagout familiarity
- Able to lift 50 lbs
- Adherence to safety and 5S standards Job Type:
