Nesco Resource has partnered with a prestigious law firm in Nassau County in their pursuit to hire a Litigation Paralegal. Must have prior experience working in a litigation firm.
 This is a hybrid role; working 3 days/week in Uniondale, NY and 2 days/week remote.

Primary duties of the Litigation Paralegal include:

  • Prepare legal documents including Notices of Motions, Subpoenas, Notices of Appearances, Pro Hac Vice Motions, Stipulations and other general court documents.
  • Prepare documents for review and use by attorneys including discovery responses and affidavits.
  • Organize and develop supporting materials, including visual aids and evidentiary items, for use in case presentation and proceedings.
  • E-File documents  (NYSCEF and PACER)
  • Organize and develop supporting materials, including visual aids and evidentiary items, for use in case presentation and proceedings.
  • Organize, analyze, chart and/or index, claim information, documents and/or exhibits for motion practice.
  • May assist attorneys in preparation of materials for witnesses for deposition and/or trial concerning general matters.
  • Review documents for relevance and privilege in preparation for disclosure.
  • Review, categorize and analyze reports, records, data and discovery responses.
  • Capture and record billable time in accordance with policies and procedures.
 
Requirements:
  • At least 3 years experience in a litigation firm; comfortable with a large caseload
  • Proactive with excellent organizational and follow-up skills
  • Experienced in scheduling and calendaring
  • Knowledge of federal and state statutes, rules, and procedures pertaining to electronic court filings and systems (NYSCEF)
  • Ability to multi-task, supporting multiple attorneys.
  • Ability to work with large document intensive cases.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and KOFAX Professional.
  • Working knowledge of Lexis Advance and/or Westlaw
  • Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate.

Compensation range: $60,000 - $75,000
Hybrid Hours:
Monday-Friday, 9:00am – 5:00pm, with an hour lunch. Flexibility to work overtime when needed.
