Overview
Client is seeking a Senior ServiceNow Application Developer to design, develop, configure, and support custom applications and platform enhancements on the ServiceNow platform. This role serves as a senior technical contributor and partners closely with architects, platform owners, and business stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and high-quality solutions aligned with enterprise standards and best practices.
Core Responsibilities

Design, develop, and maintain custom ServiceNow applications using scoped applications and platform features

Configure and customize the platform using Business Rules, Script Includes, Client Scripts, UI Policies, and Flow Designer

Develop server-side and client-side logic using JavaScript and ServiceNow APIs

Translate business requirements into effective technical solutions in partnership with architects and stakeholders

Ensure solutions follow best practices for performance, security, and maintainability

Perform unit testing and support integration testing, UAT, defect resolution, and regression testing

Support platform upgrades, patching, and ongoing application support

Troubleshoot and resolve complex ServiceNow application and platform issues

Create and maintain technical documentation including design specs and configuration details

Mentor junior developers and participate in code reviews and design discussions
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

5 years of experience developing applications on the ServiceNow platform

Strong proficiency in JavaScript and ServiceNow scripting

2 years of experience building scoped applications and using ServiceNow Studio

Strong understanding of the ServiceNow data model, security model, and access controls

Experience working with modules such as ITSM, ITOM, CMDB, HR, or custom applications

Ability to analyze business requirements and design effective technical solutions

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Skills or Experience

ServiceNow certifications such as CSA, CAD, or integration-related CIS

Experience with Flow Designer, IntegrationHub, and REST/SOAP integrations

Experience working in Agile or DevOps environments

Experience mentoring developers and participating in code reviews
