Position Overview: Electronics Test Technician

The Electronics Test Technician sets up and operates test apparatus to evaluate electronic circuit card assemblies (CCAs), RF circuits, and subassemblies. The role involves component-level troubleshooting, calibration, adjustment, and repair of analog and digital circuitry, following methods, procedures, and engineering specifications. Technicians assist engineers in developing new test procedures, recommend product improvements, and document results in accordance with quality standards and statistical process controls.

Shift: Monday–Thursday, 5:00 AM – 3:30 PM EST


Key Responsibilities

  • Set up test apparatus and conduct tests on CCAs, RF circuits, and subassemblies according to established methods and engineering standards.

  • Troubleshoot to the component level, using schematics to isolate failures in analog and digital circuits.

  • Adjust, calibrate, or repair electronic assembly systems; replace malfunctioning parts or components as required.

  • Operate hand tools, small power tools, and various measurement devices, including multimeters, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, signal generators, and frequency standards.

  • Recommend modifications or improvements to testing equipment and procedures to enhance product quality and performance.

  • Assist engineers with test procedure development for new products and recommend manufacturing/process improvements.

  • Document maintenance and test results accurately using Microsoft Suite or other data collection tools.

  • Support vibration and thermal ESS testing of CCAs and subassemblies (desired).

  • Perform Flying Probe or High Power Test operations.

  • Maintain high production output while following quality and statistical process control standards.


Required Skills / Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of direct electronics testing experience.

  • Proficient in component-level troubleshooting of solid-state and digital circuits.

  • Experience with Flying Probe or High Power Testing.

  • Able to use Microsoft Suite and data collection software to document actions and results.

  • Strong understanding of solid-state devices and micro-circuitry.

  • Must read and write English.


Desired Skills / Preferred Experience

  • Experience with RF troubleshooting and digital circuitry diagnostics.

  • Vibration and Thermal ESS testing experience for CCAs and subassemblies.

  • Military "backshop” experience in repair and troubleshooting is highly desirable.


Education

  • High School diploma or equivalent.

  • Additional specialized technical training equivalent to an Associate degree or demonstrated ability to perform technical/para-engineering tasks.
