Overview

Client is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead complex implementation projects from planning through delivery, transition, and close. This role supports both cloud and non-cloud implementations and requires strong leadership across cross-functional teams, client stakeholders, and internal partners.

The ideal candidate brings strong project delivery discipline, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage scope, schedule, budget, risk, and customer expectations in a matrixed environment.

Core Responsibilities

  • Lead implementation projects through all phases of the delivery lifecycle, from initiation and planning through execution, transition, and close

  • Build strong working relationships with internal teams, client stakeholders, and project partners

  • Manage project scope, schedule, cost, risk, resources, quality, and change control

  • Communicate project plans, milestones, constraints, dependencies, and critical path to stakeholders

  • Lead project status meetings and keep milestones and dependencies on track

  • Coordinate customer and internal resources to deliver integrated solutions

  • Provide leadership with clear and timely project status updates

  • Facilitate key discussions with sponsors and leadership to manage decisions related to timeline, budget, and scope

  • Act as a primary point of contact between internal and external stakeholders

  • Lead issue resolution and risk mitigation across cross-functional teams

  • Provide feedback to project team members and help strengthen team performance and collaboration

  • Support solution development during the sales cycle by contributing project delivery expertise

  • Identify business growth opportunities using industry and product knowledge

  • Mentor junior Project Managers as needed

Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

  • Strong experience leading full lifecycle implementation projects

  • Experience managing both cloud and non-cloud implementations

  • Solid knowledge of project management disciplines including scope, schedule, cost, risk, resource, quality, and change management

  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and work effectively in a matrix-management environment

  • Strong project planning, milestone tracking, dependency management, and status reporting skills

  • Experience supporting project financial and operational controls, including forecasting and billing-related approvals

  • Strong client-facing communication and stakeholder management skills

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining customer satisfaction and delivery quality

Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills or Experience

  • Higher education industry experience

  • Knowledge of higher education business processes and software products

  • Experience supporting solution development during the sales cycle

  • Experience mentoring less experienced Project Managers

  • Cloud and project management certifications
