Position Overview:
Seeking a detail-oriented professional to take ownership of the PPAP process and serve as the internal champion for customer quality compliance. This person will be hands-on, collaborative, and comfortable driving corrective action across departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead development and submission of PPAP documentation, ensuring all customer requirements are met on time and to specification
- Manage customer rejections and non-conformances from intake through closure, including root cause analysis and corrective action planning
- Program and operate CMM equipment (MCOSMOS) and Keyence measurement systems
- Partner with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues at the source
- Track and report on quality metrics; drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct process audits and ensure ongoing compliance with applicable industry standards and customer specs
- Train and support production staff on quality standards and best practices
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or related field preferred — not required with equivalent experience
- 3 years in a quality engineering role within stamping or precision metal manufacturing
- Solid command of PPAP requirements and APQP methodology
- Proven experience with customer complaint resolution, 8D, and root cause analysis
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 standards
- Strong communicator — comfortable working across functions and interfacing with customers
- Proficient in quality tools including FMEA, SPC, and control plans
