Technical Training & Development Supervisor
Full-Time | On-Site

Overview:
This leadership role sits at the center of workforce development, driving training strategy across a technical manufacturing environment. The position focuses on building scalable learning programs, strengthening internal career pathways, and elevating workforce capability through structured development and hands-on training initiatives. You’ll play a key role in shaping how employees grow, advance, and succeed across the organization.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Salary Range: $75,000 – $85,000

Core Responsibilities:

  • Training Strategy & Execution:
    Lead the creation and rollout of structured learning programs aligned to operational goals and evolving business needs.
  • Curriculum Development:
    Design technical training content, workshops, and development tracks that support both new and tenured employees.
  • Career Pathing & Competency Models:
    Build clear progression frameworks that define skill growth, advancement opportunities, and performance expectations.
  • Promotion Frameworks:
    Establish consistent, merit-based processes that support internal mobility, retention, and employee engagement.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
    Partner with leadership and subject matter experts to ensure training aligns with real-world application and production demands.
  • Facilitation & Coaching:
    Deliver engaging training sessions while mentoring supervisors and team members on development best practices.
  • Apprenticeship & Talent Pipeline Support:
    Contribute to workforce pipeline efforts through trade school partnerships and apprenticeship initiatives.
  • Culture Development:
    Promote an environment centered around safety, quality, continuous improvement, and teamwork.
  • Metrics & Performance Tracking:
    Develop and monitor KPIs to evaluate training effectiveness, participation, and overall impact on operations.
  • Data-Driven Improvement:
    Leverage insights and reporting to refine programs and demonstrate measurable ROI.
  • Team Leadership:
    Manage and develop a team of approximately 7 direct reports.

Required Background:

  • Experience & Education:
    Bachelor’s with 6 years, Associate’s with 8 years, or 10 years of relevant hands-on experience.
  • Training Development:
    Proven experience building structured learning programs and measuring effectiveness.
  • Instructional Strength:
    Strong facilitation, coaching, and instructional design capabilities.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    Hands-on familiarity with welding processes (GMAW, FCAW, SMAW, SAW) and related fabrication methods.
  • Manufacturing Exposure:
    Understanding of cutting methods (plasma, flame, carbon arc) and metalizing processes.
  • Equipment & Systems:
    Experience with CNC equipment and shop machinery such as press brakes, burn tables, and material handling systems.
  • Systems Proficiency:
    Comfortable working within Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, Access).

Preferred Experience:

  • Industry Background:
    Experience within manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
  • Process Improvement:
    Exposure to lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
