Robot Welder in Gastonia, NC, programs, sets up, and operates robotic welding machines (FANUC, ABB, or Yaskawa) to produce high-quality metal components . Key responsibilities include loading fixtures, adjusting welding parameters for accuracy, conducting routine maintenance, and collaborating with engineering teams, requiring technical proficiency, blueprint reading, and safety compliance.
- Program and Operate: Set up and run robotic welding systems, utilizing teach pendants to navigate and optimize robot movements.
- Production & Quality: Load materials onto fixtures, ensure proper alignment, and monitor robots to ensure welds meet quality standards.
- Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Perform regular maintenance, inspections, and troubleshooting of robotic systems to resolve errors.
- Technical Optimization: Adjust welding parameters (power, speed) based on material thickness and troubleshoot technical issues.
- Safety & Collaboration: Adhere to safety guidelines (PPE) and work with engineering/production teams on, efficient workflows.
- Experience: Proven experience as a welder, ideally in robotic metal fabrication.
- Technical Skills: Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
- Robotic Familiarity: Experience with or knowledge of robot systems (e.g., FANUC, ABB) is highly preferred.
- Education: High school diploma or vocational training in welding.
- Ability to stand, kneel, and bend for extended periods.
