Nesco Data Center and Infrastructure is seeking a Network Engineer in the Greater Phoenix AZ area.

Position Overview

The Network Implementation Engineer is responsible for designing, deploying, and configuring secure and reliable network solutions for client environments. This role supports both new installations and infrastructure upgrades, ensuring projects are delivered on time with minimal disruption to business operations.

The ideal candidate combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication skills and the ability to manage multiple projects in dynamic environments.


Key Responsibilities

Network Deployment & Implementation

  • Install and configure network infrastructure including switches, firewalls, routers, and wireless systems

  • Perform network migrations, upgrades, and system cutovers with careful planning and risk mitigation

  • Configure equipment from major vendors according to defined project requirements

  • Execute both remote and on-site deployments, including occasional after-hours implementation

Design Review & Planning

  • Collaborate with sales engineers, project managers, and clients to define technical requirements

  • Participate in discovery sessions to assess client environments

  • Review solution designs to ensure scalability, security, and compliance with internal standards

  • Develop detailed implementation and transition plans

Testing & Validation

  • Conduct pre-implementation assessments and post-deployment testing

  • Validate failover configurations, redundancy planning, and security policies

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues identified during deployment or shortly after go-live

Documentation & Knowledge Transfer

  • Document configurations, IP addressing schemes, and device roles

  • Create and update network diagrams and as-built documentation

  • Ensure proper handoff to support teams following project completion

  • Maintain accurate updates within internal documentation systems

Client & Stakeholder Communication

  • Provide clear technical updates throughout the project lifecycle

  • Participate in kickoff and closeout meetings

  • Serve as an escalation resource during initial stabilization periods

  • Coordinate transition of ongoing support to operations or service desk teams


Additional Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware maintenance and firmware updates as needed

  • Assist with troubleshooting support tickets when required

  • Participate in an on-call rotation schedule

  • Mentor junior engineers and support staff


Required Qualifications

  • 2–4 years of experience implementing and deploying network infrastructure

  • Strong understanding of core networking concepts (Layer 2/Layer 3, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, routing, etc.)

  • Hands-on experience with enterprise networking platforms and firewalls

  • Experience performing complex troubleshooting and root cause analysis

  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment

  • Strong organizational, documentation, and time management skills

  • Willingness to travel domestically when required

  • Availability to work in-office 2–3 days per week


Preferred Qualifications

  • Industry certifications such as CCNA or equivalent

  • Experience with automation tools and scripting (e.g., Python or JavaScript)

  • Familiarity with network monitoring and management platforms

  • Experience with Windows Server environments

  • Experience working with professional services automation (PSA) tools

  • Strong client-facing communication skills and service-oriented mindset
