Nesco Resource is partnering with a well-established, multi-state civil engineering and surveying firm that is expanding operations into the Amarillo market. One of their long-standing clients has recently expanded into the region, creating immediate project demand and long-term growth opportunity.
This is a unique opportunity for a Texas Licensed Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) to help establish and lead surveying operations in a new market. The organization does not yet have a physical office in Amarillo but plans to open one within the year. The selected candidate will play a critical role in setting operational standards, managing field activities, and building the local surveying presence.
This position offers strong autonomy, leadership responsibility, and a clear path toward regional growth and team development.
The Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) will oversee and execute surveying services in support of land development, infrastructure, municipal, and commercial projects. This individual will serve as the responsible surveyor of record while supporting business development and client engagement in the Amarillo area.
Technical Leadership
- Perform and oversee boundary, topographic, control, ALTA/NSPS, easement, and construction surveys
- Review and certify plats, legal descriptions, easement exhibits, and related deliverables
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with Texas Board of Professional Land Surveying standards
- Provide technical oversight of field crews and survey technicians
- Lead the establishment of surveying operations in the Amarillo region
- Assist in developing procedures and workflows for the new office
- Support recruiting and mentorship of future survey team members
- Act as the local face of surveying operations for clients
- Coordinate directly with developers, engineers, municipalities, and contractors
- Define scope, schedule, and deliverables for survey projects
- Manage multiple projects concurrently while maintaining quality and profitability
- Support regional business development efforts
- Ensure proper use, calibration, and maintenance of GPS, total stations, and related survey equipment
- Maintain field documentation, QA/QC procedures, and safety compliance
- Active Texas Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) license (required)
- 5 years of progressive land surveying experience
- Experience serving as surveyor of record
- Strong knowledge of boundary resolution and land title principles
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience
- Ability to work independently in a start-up style regional expansion
