A Press Brake Operator/Welder at a metal fabrication, sets up and operates machines to bend, form, or punch metal plates and sheets based on blueprints. This role involves installing dies/punches, inspecting parts for accuracy, and performing welding (MIG/TIG) as required. Key requirements include 2-3 years of experience and ability to lift 50 lbs.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Machine Operation & Setup: Set up and operate CNC press brake machines to bend, punch, or form metal components. Install and adjust tooling, including dies and punches, ensuring proper alignment.
- Blueprint Reading: Interpret technical drawings, blue prints, and work orders to determine specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for dimensional accuracy, quality, and defects.
- Welding/Fabrication: Perform welding tasks (MIG/TIG) as part of the fabrication process.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on machines and maintain a safe, clean work area.
- Experience: 2–3 years of press brake experience in a fabrication or manufacturing environment.
- Skills: Ability to read blueprints, understand tolerances, and operate machinery.
- Physical Strength: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Technical: Experience working with steel, aluminum, and stainless steel.
- CNC press brake certification or advanced experience.
