QC Lab Technician
1st shift Monday thru Thursday
5am to 3:30pm
Pay:$16.50 to $18.00 per hour
Position Overview
Nesco Resource is hiring for our client, an independently owned metal parts manufacturer in the Elmira area, seeking a detail-oriented QC Technician to join its Quality Department. This role is responsible for ensuring all gauges, tools, and measuring equipment meet required standards, while performing precise measurements on production parts to maintain the company’s strong commitment to safety, quality, and on-time delivery.
Reports To: Quality Facilitator / Supervisor
Key Responsibilities

Perform and document precision inspections; provide accept/reject determinations

Calibrate gauges and measuring/test equipment according to established schedules

Adjust and repair equipment to maintain accuracy and resolution

Conduct Gauge R&R studies and maintain required documentation

Verify part dimensions and calculate unspecified dimensions using shop math and trigonometry

Perform manual layouts of parts and assemblies

Program and operate a Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM)

Prepare metallurgical samples and operate metallurgical equipment to support PPAP requirements

Document part dimensions and characteristics for PPAP submissions

Maintain calibration records, histories, and documentation

Maintain cleanliness and organization of equipment and work areas

Follow OSHA standards and company safety policies to support Goal Zero initiatives

Perform preventative maintenance and other related duties as assigned
Qualifications
-
High school diploma, GED, or vocational training (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

1–2 years of experience using manufacturing tools and measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges, grinders, drills, presses, etc.)

Working knowledge of manufacturing processes

Knowledge of GD&T strongly preferred

Ability to read and interpret blueprints, procedure manuals, and technical documents

Strong attention to detail and hand/eye coordination

Basic math skills and analytical problem-solving ability

Understanding of OSHA and EPA regulations

Ability to maintain a clean and safe work environment

Willingness to work various schedules, including nights and weekends as needed
