Overview
Client is seeking a senior Software Architect / Lead Engineer to design and support scalable, data-driven web applications used in claims-related systems. This is a 1-year contract role and is open to remote candidates. You'll partner with technical and business stakeholders to modernize and maintain application architecture, integrations, and development standards.
Core Responsibilities

Design and maintain robust software architecture for claims-related web applications

Lead development and implementation for enhancements, fixes, and system upgrades

Build and support integrations via web services/APIs and interface-driven solutions

Ensure scalability, compatibility, security considerations, and data integrity across applications

Evaluate tools/technologies and recommend solutions aligned to IT strategy

Review change requests for feasibility and overlap; provide prioritization recommendations

Collaborate with project managers and cross-functional teams to align workstreams

Mentor developers and support delivery quality through standards, reviews, and guidance
Essential Qualifications, Skills, and Technologies

7 years of software development experience (10 years total related experience preferred)

Strong hands-on development with C# and .NET Core / modern .NET

Strong SQL Server experience in database-driven applications

Front-end development experience with Vue.js, JavaScript, and HTML

Experience building/consuming web services / APIs (REST/SOAP)

Strong communication skills (technical writing and stakeholder communication)
Preferred (Nice-to-Have) Skills or Experience

Legacy web experience with ASPX / ASP.NET

EDI transaction experience (e.g., 873, 935, 299)

Experience supporting claims/insurance platforms and integration-heavy ecosystem
