Description: Electronics (E-Lab) Technician
Status: Non-Exempt (hourly)
Department: Operations, E-Lab

Position Summary

The E-Lab Tech works to ensure that PCBA repairs, reworks, diagnostics, testing and projects are completed timely and with the highest quality standards. The ideal candidate for this position will possess a thorough knowledge of manufacturing best practices, a knowledge of electronics, along with the ability to communicate effectively in a team environment. The E-Lab Tech must be prepared to adapt to the changing needs of a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Core Duties and Responsibilities
•Perform repairs, rework, diagnostic efforts and testing protocol as required for PCBAs
•Support daily efforts to meet manufacturing, spares and engineering deliverables
•Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Plug Power products and assembly protocol
•Help to train new team members in various repair, rework, diagnostic, and testing processes
•Contribute to 5S efforts and support all standards of organization, safety and cleanliness in the department
•Ensure compliance with ISO, GMP, CE, UL and other relevant standards through documentation, inspections, and audit support.
•Analyze data and prepare reports as needed in the course of work
•Hand assembly of a variety of sub-systems and components utilized in manufacturing Plug Power’s GenDrive fuel cell technology; assembly tasks are electro-mechanical in nature
•Ability to read, interpret and adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and assembly instructions
•Operation of manual hand tools and power tools as required in assembly and validation work
•Operation of material handling equipment, including manual and electric power jacks
•Ability to perform basic troubleshooting and problem solving to diagnose system, sub-system, and ancillary component issues in the course of the manufacturing process
•Maintain proper housekeeping so as to promote a safe and efficient workplace
•Must professionally communicate and collaborate with other Plug Power team members and supervisors
•Ability to complete manufacturing documentation as required in the course of work
•Adhere to safety standards at all times; this includes all OSHA regulations and facility safety policies
•Perform other duties as assigned

Education and Experience

•High school diploma or equivalent
•Manufacturing industry experience; preferably within a technology product manufacturing facility
•Electronics (PCBA) experience highly preferred
•Background with the IPC-A-610 standard (certification preferred).
•Solder experience
•Proven ability to collaborate effectively within a team atmosphere
•Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
•Excellent task-oriented follow-through
