Position Overview
The Principal Subcontracts Specialist will lead the end-to-end lifecycle of FAR Part 15 proposals and subcontracts, supporting key government programs within the Machining Government Sourcing organization. This role is responsible for proposal development, sales order fulfillment, and negotiation of FAR 15–compliant subcontracts and long-term purchase agreements.
The selected candidate will serve as a subject matter expert, leading assigned commodities, mentoring team members, and working cross-functionally with Pricing, Supply Chain, and Program teams to deliver compliant, value-focused subcontract solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and execute FAR Part 15–compliant subcontracts

Develop and execute negotiation strategies to support compliant contract execution

Manage and support key program suppliers

Train, mentor, and guide team members on FAR 15 subcontracting processes

Lead assigned commodity areas within the sourcing team

Partner closely with Pricing to deliver compliant FAR 15 proposal packages

Negotiate supplier subcontracts and long-term purchase orders (FFP, CP, CPIF, etc.)

Build supplier strategies that enable best overall value while maintaining regulatory compliance
Required Qualifications
-
Minimum 7 years of experience in Procurement, Supply Chain, Contracts & Compliance, Business, or Finance

U.S. Person / U.S. Citizen due to contractual requirements

Ability to work independently and manage complex subcontracting activities
Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree
-
DoD procurement subcontracting experience ( FAR Part 15)

Strong understanding of the DoD Procurement Life Cycle

Working knowledge of FAR and DFARS

Experience negotiating subcontract types including FFP, CP, CPIF, and similar

Experience with Truthful Cost or Pricing Data (TCPD)

Strong negotiation skills and supplier strategy development

Supply chain and procurement experience within defense, aerospace, or related industries

Ability to interpret, negotiate, and execute complex terms and conditions
