We are looking for a Manufacturing and Cost Estimating Engineer to support business growth, quoting activity, and production execution.

This role combines technical estimating with hands-on manufacturing engineering. You will be responsible for developing accurate cost estimates for customer bids while also building and refining work routers for jobs released to the shop floor. The ideal candidate has a strong background in CNC machining, understands outside processing, and is comfortable interpreting complex blueprints. You will also serve as a primary technical contact for customers, so clear communication is essential.

What you'll do

  • Review customer drawings and specifications to prepare detailed cost estimates and quotations
  • Develop and maintain work routers that support efficient use of equipment, tooling, and floor space
  • Analyze manufacturing processes to improve cycle times, machine utilization, and setup efficiency
  • Create and troubleshoot CNC programs for both milling and turning operations at the shop floor level
  • Collaborate with customers and suppliers to clarify technical requirements and manufacturability
  • Help plan production flows to ensure products consistently meet quality standards
  • Work with leadership and customers to establish practical manufacturing and design standards

What we're looking for

  • Hands-on experience with precision machining on both CNC mills and lathes
  • Strong understanding of CNC programming and setup
  • Comfort using hand tools and precision measurement equipment
  • Solid grasp of GD&T and cutting tool applications
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve manufacturing issues directly on the shop floor

Preferred qualifications

  • 5 plus years of experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or related engineering field
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
