Forklift Operator – 2nd Shift
Location: Warren, MI
Pay Rate: $17.75/hour
Shift: 2nd Shift
Job Summary
The Forklift Operator is responsible for safely transporting direct materials, tooling, supplies, and finished goods throughout the facility using forklifts (Hi-Los), hand trucks, cranes, and other material handling equipment. This role also supports inventory control, shipping/receiving, and general warehouse operations.
Key Responsibilities

Safely operate forklifts (Hi-Los) in accordance with company safety policies and procedures

Perform and complete daily forklift inspection checklists; report any damage or safety concerns to a supervisor immediately

Load and unload trucks using forklifts or cranes

Transport raw materials, WIP, tooling, supplies, and finished goods to designated locations within the facility

Prepare and submit maintenance or purchasing requests for forklifts requiring service

Manually handle materials using hand trucks or other approved equipment as needed

Load raw materials or finished products onto skids or hand trucks

Collapse and properly stack dunnage, skids, and pallets in designated areas

Remove old tags from empty containers and dispose of scrap materials, cardboard, strapping, and other debris in proper containers

Use required tools (hammers, wire cutters, strapping tools, crowbars) to prepare materials for shipment or internal use

Replenish raw materials, work-in-process (WIP), finished goods, and MRO items to point-of-use locations

Verify proper labeling of all materials before moving to the next location

Rotate inventory to ensure FIFO compliance and perform physical inventory counts as requested

Assist with cycle counting and pull-system programs

Hand-count or weight-count partial bins removed from the line during changeovers and stage for retagging

Perform general housekeeping duties, including daily emptying of chip hoppers

Complete additional duties as assigned by the supervisor
