Packer – 3rd Shift (Rotating Schedule)
Pay: $16.25/hour
Shift: 3rd Shift | 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour shifts)

Job Summary
The Packer is responsible for properly identifying, packing, and labeling slit rolls according to customer specifications. This role supports packaging operations by ensuring accuracy, quality, equipment care, and a clean, safe work environment. The Packer works closely with production, slitting, and supervisory teams to meet production and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities

Verify customer requirements by reviewing specification books and work instructions

Identify exception codes and select appropriate packing materials

Print and verify labels at the packaging station for each finished roll

Ensure accurate roll data for product coming off conveyors

Troubleshoot basic conveyor system issues

Operate overhead crane safely and efficiently

Perform data entry at packaging and stretch-wrapping stations

Operate stretch-wrapper in both automatic and manual modes

Weigh finished pallets and apply correct labels, verifying all data

Maintain proper housekeeping and a safe working environment

Communicate effectively with packers, lead technicians, slitting technicians, and supervisors

Operate a forklift as needed

Assist in other packing or slitting department functions as assigned
Requirements & Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required

Forklift experience preferred

Ability to bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs continuously

Basic computer and data entry skills

Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends, evenings, and overtime as needed
Safety & PPE Requirements

Steel-toed shoes required
