Job Description: Looping Spring / Setup Position
A machine setup and operation, including specialized Mec Auto Looper Technicians and Spring Coiler Set-Up positions. These positions are responsible for setting up, operating, and troubleshooting machinery to produce custom springs and wire forms according to precise, client-provided specifications.
As a Set-Up Technician or Operator, you are responsible for preparing machinery (such as MEC auto loopers or CNC coilers) to manufacture extension springs with specific loop types (machine, crossover, side).
Key Responsibilities:
- Machine Set-Up: Configure machines, install tools, and adjust wire feed for various spring sizes based on blueprints, drawings, or sample parts.
- Production Operation: Operate and monitor machinery, ensuring high-speed, accurate production of springs.
- Quality Inspection: Perform first-piece inspection and in-process checks using micrometer, calipers, and load testers to ensure compliance with specifications.
- Troubleshooting: Identify and correct issues related to spring dimensions, loop quality, or machine performance.
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance on equipment to keep it running safely and efficiently.
- Experience: Generally, 2 years of experience in setting up CNC spring coiling or wire forming machines (MEC, Wafios, Itaya) is required.
- Skills: Ability to read blueprints, interpret job orders, and use precision measuring instruments.
- Mec Auto Looper Technician: Specific focus on looping machinery.
- Spring Coiler Set-Up: General spring production.
