Position Overview
A growing aerospace manufacturer is seeking an experienced Programming Engineer.The Manufacturing Engineer / CNC Programmer is responsible for conceiving, evaluating, and implementing new equipment, tooling, and manufacturing processes to improve safety, reliability, capacity, and cost efficiency. This role supports complex aerospace manufacturing operations through CNC programming, process development, technical analysis, and continuous improvement initiatives. The position works closely with engineering, production, and cross-functional teams to resolve technical challenges, optimize manufacturing performance, and ensure compliance with design specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop aircraft fabrication, assembly, and installation work instructions by interpreting engineering drawings, tooling designs, process specifications, and equipment requirements
- Perform CNC programming for complex aerospace components, supporting both milling and turning operations as required

Evaluate, recommend, and support tooling, fixtures, and equipment for manufacturing operations

Conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to address manufacturing issues, downtime, and cost drivers

Provide technical support to the production floor, including work instruction updates and manufacturing bill of materials (MBOM) modifications

Collaborate with engineers, planners, and operators; provide training and technical guidance as needed

Prioritize and adjust workflow to meet customer schedules, production demands, and delivery commitments

Participate in and support Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, safety, environmental, R&D, and continuous improvement initiatives

Evaluate engineering changes and determine appropriate labor, tooling, and equipment standards to meet specifications

Prepare weekly activity reports, project updates, action plans, work instructions, test procedures, and supporting documentation

Maintain awareness of customer schedules and available engineering resources to align priorities and execution

Perform other duties as assigned
CNC Technical Requirements

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions

CAD/CAM CNC mill programming for complex aerospace components

Proficiency with NX or Mastercam preferred

Experience with workplace holding and fixture design/illustration

Experience with GibbsCAM a plus

CNC lathe programming experience a plus

Proficient in Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems
Qualifications
Education & Experience
-
Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field with 2–4 years of relevant experience OR

5 years of equivalent manufacturing engineering experience

Minimum of 3 years of hands-on CNC machinist experience
