Role Overview
One of Nesco Resource's Oil & Gas clients in Houston is seeking a Logistics Lead / Analyst to oversee dispatch operations while driving analytics, reporting, and continuous improvement initiatives. This role blends hands-on logistics leadership with a strong analytical mindset, supporting both field operations and corporate stakeholders.
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who can evaluate current workflows, build performance metrics and dashboards, and lead the evolution of logistics and dispatch operations with minimal oversight.
Key Characteristics

Strong analyst, developer, or engineering mindset with experience in data analysis and reporting tools such as Spotfire, Power BI, and SQL

Self-directed and able to operate independently

Able to communicate effectively with both field operations and corporate leadership

Proven ability to assess existing processes and develop a clear improvement roadmap

Skilled in defining meaningful KPIs and building dashboards and stakeholder-ready reports beyond basic Excel

Strategic thinker with a big-picture, continuous improvement mindset

Comfortable stepping into a role and making an immediate impact with limited supervision

Oil & Gas industry experience strongly preferred

Bachelor's degree required
Primary Responsibilities
Supervision & Team Leadership

Assign work, schedule shifts, evaluate performance, and provide ongoing guidance to dispatchers and controllers

Ensure daily logistics activities are properly scheduled and executed to meet operational and customer requirements

Serve as the primary point of contact for logistics and dispatch personnel
Training & Development

Support the selection, onboarding, training, and development of dispatch and controller staff

Identify skill gaps and training needs and provide recommendations for improvement
Operational Oversight

Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements

Maintain accurate operational records and oversee dispatch-related systems and equipment
Emergency & Time-Sensitive Response

Coordinate emergency and high-priority logistics situations

Prioritize dispatch needs and maintain clear communication with field teams

Respond quickly to urgent requests and execute efficiently under pressure
Problem Solving & Issue Resolution

Address day-to-day operational challenges, equipment or system issues, and service complaints

Interface with hauling and third-party service providers to resolve logistics issues
Communication & Cross-Functional Collaboration

Maintain effective communication with dispatchers, controllers, field operations, internal departments, and external partners

Demonstrate the ability to understand and support the realities of field operations
Policy, Process & System Development

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of logistics and dispatch policies and procedures

Drive the build-out and enhancement of logistics systems and consoles

Own implementation efforts and process improvements with a focus on scalability and performance
Safety & Compliance

Promote and reinforce safe work practices and procedures within the dispatch and logistics environment
