Position Overview

Under the direction of the Department Manager, this role is responsible for protecting investor interests related to mortgages serviced on commercial properties by ensuring proper insurance coverage and compliance. This position requires strong analytical judgment, the ability to assess complex risk scenarios, and the skill to clearly articulate findings and recommendations. This is not a checklist-driven role and requires independent decision-making, adaptability, and effective self-management in a dynamic work environment.


Required Industry Experience

Candidates must have experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Loan Servicing

  • Commercial Insurance

  • Real Estate (commercial preferred)


Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and ensure insurance compliance for commercial properties held as collateral for lenders and investors.

  • Analyze insurance policies to confirm alignment with investor guidelines, Pooling and Servicing Agreements (PSAs), mortgage documents, and applicable regulations.

  • Perform risk assessments related to property insurance coverage and exposure.

  • Review appraisals and evaluate insurance adequacy relative to asset value and risk.

  • Process and oversee insurance premium disbursements from escrow accounts.

  • Communicate effectively with borrowers, insurance agents, servicers, investors, and internal departments.

  • Prepare and manage insurance-related correspondence and documentation.

  • Act in a timely, efficient, and responsible manner to protect investor interests.
