Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced Shipping Supervisor to lead daily warehouse operations at our facility. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced distribution environment and is passionate about safety, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the picking process to ensure all orders are completed accurately and on time in accordance with Mars’ picking standards.
- Oversee quality control and packing operations to ensure order accuracy, proper packaging, and adherence to customer-specific requirements.
- Serve as a resource to the Closing Warehouse Supervisor and assist with ensuring all operational functions are completed prior to nightly close.
- Assume responsibility for building operations, including securing the facility at the end of the shift.
- Interface with Logistics and participate in daily truck routing to ensure efficient loading and delivery.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, including cost savings, cost avoidance, and process improvements.
- Supervise and manage warehouse associates, including scheduling, performance management, and HR-related matters.
- Act as the primary point of contact for issue resolution within the shipping team, ensuring timely corrective action and communication.
- Collaborate with warehouse and fleet teams to ensure on-time and efficient delivery to customers.
- Enforce and promote Mars’ safety policies and procedures daily.
- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in warehouse operations, logistics, or a combination of relevant education and experience.
- Strong aptitude for all aspects of warehouse operations.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, customer service, and operational efficiency.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience preferred.
- Ability to perform effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
