Senior Development Geoscience Advisor
Position Overview
A confidential exploration and production operator is seeking a Senior Development Geoscience Advisor to play a critical role within its subsurface organization. This position is intended for a highly experienced geoscience professional with deep expertise in development geology, integrated subsurface interpretation, and reservoir modeling in complex offshore environments.
The successful candidate will lead the integration of geological, geophysical, and engineering data into robust static and dynamic reservoir models, supporting field development planning, reserves maturation, and production forecasting. Strong experience in deepwater depositional systems and cross-disciplinary collaboration is essential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide senior-level geoscience leadership to integrated subsurface teams evaluating complex development projects
  • Develop and communicate fit-for-purpose geological concepts that inform reservoir characterization and development decisions
  • Integrate geological interpretations into 3D static models and corresponding dynamic simulation frameworks
  • Identify, assess, and quantify subsurface uncertainty, risk, and reservoir sensitivities
  • Deliver geological inputs that support development scenarios, production forecasts, and reserves bookings
  • Identify incremental value opportunities in existing and future reservoirs, including infill wells, recompletions, and workovers
  • Support exploration and new venture activities through reservoir and development evaluations
  • Generate reservoir-specific deliverables including maps, cross sections, volumetric summaries, and property tables
  • Collaborate with reserves professionals and external auditors to ensure technically defensible reserve estimates
  • Evaluate subsurface data gaps and recommend acquisition or purchase strategies
  • Act as a geoscience focal point across multi-disciplinary teams to promote integration and alignment

Technical Leadership & Collaboration
  • Serve as a core contributor to integrated subsurface decision-making
  • Ensure geological principles are consistently incorporated into engineering and simulation workflows
  • Promote strong communication across disciplines, reducing organizational and technical silos
  • Contribute to the definition and execution of field development and optimization strategies

Decision Support
  • Provide technical recommendations supporting reservoir development and operational decisions
  • Contribute geological inputs to production profiles used for planning, investment, and reserves reporting

Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology required
  • Advanced degree (M.S. or Ph.D.) preferred
