Manufacturing Technician
Location: Ayer, MA
Type: Contract-to-Hire
Pay: $18.00 – $21.00/hour (based on experience)
Shift: 1st Shift
Training Schedule: 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Position Summary
We are seeking a detail-oriented Manufacturing Technician to join a growing team in Ayer, MA. This role involves inspecting, cleaning, measuring, assembling, and packaging optical components throughout various stages of the manufacturing process. The ideal candidate is reliable, quality-focused, and comfortable working in a team-based manufacturing environment.
This is a contract-to-hire opportunity with training provided and long-term potential.
Key Responsibilities

Handle and process glass substrates according to written procedures

Perform mechanical measurements using calipers, micrometers, and other manual or electronic gauges

Conduct optical measurements using industry-standard and product-specific test equipment

Accurately document inspection and measurement results

Operate manufacturing equipment as required

Perform light maintenance or calibration of equipment

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe workspace

Stand and work on your feet for extended periods

Work overtime when required, including weekdays and occasional Saturdays

Complete other assigned duties as assigned
Required Skills and Qualifications

Ability to learn and use precision measurement tools

Ability to follow written instructions and procedures

Task- and results-oriented with the ability to multitask

Comfortable working in a team environment

Basic math and computer skills, including spreadsheets

Ability to read and write in English

High School Diploma or GED preferred
Preferred Experience

Prior manufacturing or production experience

Experience with optical components or photoresist processing is a plus
