Our client is a leading defense / aerospace manufacturer with an awesome work culture and very generous benefits package. They are currently looking for a highly qualified individual that will lead the development and implementation of the quality management system to ensure products and services meet company, regulatory and customer standards. This senior role involves overseeing quality teams and collaborating with other departments to establish overall quality and compliance.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Direct a staff of up to 50 people including engineers, technicians, inspectors, engineers and administrative personnel. Hire staff and provide training.
  • Develop and enforce quality systems to ensure compliance to consensus standards and customer requirements.
  • Monitor and communicate measurement of quality-related metrics to senior staff and advocate for improvements.
  • Communicate with customers regarding Quality compliance, complaints, audits, etc.
  • Collaborate with Purchasing on monitoring and improving vendor performance.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to reduce waste, improve efficiency and drive a quality culture.
  • Manage budget.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education – Bachelor's degree in a technical or management related field.
  • 10 years minimum experience in a direct QA role with progressive advancement into supervisory and managerial roles.
  • Direct experience with FAA regulatory rules and offices in the areas of certification, Parts Manufacturing Approval.
Desired Qualifications
  • Direct experience in AS9100 or ISO 9001.
Skills and Abilities
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a high paced development environment.
  • Ability to direct and manage a department of up to 50 employees.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing and inspection processes and data systems.
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization, customers and regulatory bodies.
