Location: Youngstown, OH
Pay Rate: $27-$32 per hour, based on experience
Shifts: 2nd- 3:00pm-11:00pm, 3rd Shift-11:00pm-7:00am (including weekends or OT as required)
Position Summary
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring the reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This role focuses on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of production equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Ensure proper operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance on motors, pneumatics, conveyor systems, and production machines.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical malfunctions by following diagrams, operation manuals, manufacturer instructions, and engineering specifications.
- Identify sources of problems by observing equipment in operation, listening for abnormalities, and using precision measuring and diagnostic instruments.
- Perform necessary repairs and adjustments to functional parts and control instruments using hand tools and precision equipment.
- Read electrical schematics and troubleshoot electrical systems including 110 VAC, 240/480 VAC, and 3-phase power.
- Minimize downtime by coordinating preventive maintenance activities and communicating with production teams.
- Fabricate repair parts using machine shop equipment such as lathes, milling machines, and welding/brazing tools.
- Provide maintenance support and technical information in response to production inquiries.
- Prepare and maintain maintenance reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
- Maintain continuity across shifts by documenting work performed, irregularities, and ongoing needs.
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with all safety procedures and regulations.
- Contribute to team efforts and perform other duties as assigned.
- Ability to work various shifts, including weekends.
- Basic math and communication skills to complete paperwork and read technical manuals, instructions, safety notices, and warning signs.
- Proficiency in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.
- Experience operating welding and brazing equipment, lathes, milling machines, and other shop equipment.
- Ability to frequently stoop, bend, reach, climb ladders or scaffolds, and work in tight or confined spaces.
- Strong hand-eye coordination, motor skills, dexterity, and quick reflexes, including work at ceiling height.
- Visual and hearing ability sufficient to detect equipment malfunctions and recognize warning devices and signals
