This is an entry level position that will work with the Senior Estimator to train and grow their skillset. This role requires the successful candidate to provide accurate quantity take-offs of reinforcing steel (rebar) for a variety of cast-in-place concrete construction projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for viewing the Scope of Work, Project Drawings, Specifications, and Addenda for a variety of Lump Sum Cast-in-Place Concrete projects to ensure all necessary and relevant information for preparing of a Reinforcing Steel bid Quotation will be provided by the bid deadline.
Job Duties
- Completes detailed take-off of reinforcing steel for a variety of lump sum projects by the bid deadline.
- Reviews scope of work, specifications, and addendums for respective projects to ensure accurate breakdown of material as required.
- Reviews and makes changes to estimates as per post-bid addendums
- Prints drawings, reports as required in completing bid process
- Use estimating software for rebar take-off, and Plan Swift software for on-screen viewing and takeoff
- Communicate with contractors to meet hard deadlines.
- Take sales calls and process orders
- Post-Secondary education in Civil/Construction/Architectural Technician Program.
- No experience necessary, 2 year degree preferred
