Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Engineer II to join our R&D Engineering team. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this mid-level role focuses on the advanced design, development, and testing of new products that expand and strengthen our product portfolio. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, hands-on testing experience, and the ability to translate customer needs into high-quality, manufacturable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and execution of design verification and validation plans.
  • Drive key performance indicators (KPIs) to support continuous improvement and project success.
  • Develop advanced test procedures, fixtures, and rigs; generate detailed test documentation and lab reports.
  • Solve complex engineering problems using analytical methods, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving.
  • Build and maintain deep knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards.
  • Lead Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA) activities.
  • Communicate effectively with customers ranging from OEM partners to homeowners.
  • Translate customer needs into clear technical requirements and communicate them across teams.
  • Lead new product development efforts to meet OEM specifications using target cost methodologies.
  • Ensure designs account for manufacturing methods, constraints, and scalability.
  • Lead material selection and sourcing efforts.
  • Create detailed part drawings and bills of materials (BOMs) using Creo.
  • Oversee manufacturing teams during first-article builds and initial production runs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across projects.
  • Support additional projects and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • 3–6 years of relevant engineering experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD software;
  • Extensive hands-on experience with laboratory testing equipment and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and high-impact projects simultaneously.
  • Proven leadership capabilities with experience mentoring or guiding others.
