Overview
We are seeking a Senior Application Engineer to serve as the global technical authority for anti-surge and severe service control valve applications within the automation and process industries. This is a senior, individual contributor role supporting commercial teams, sales engineers, and engineering partners with application guidance, product specification, and solution design.
The ideal candidate has deep expertise in compressor anti-surge systems, severe service valve applications, and high-demand operating conditions, and is comfortable operating in a highly technical, customer-facing environment with global reach.
Key Responsibilities

Act as the subject matter expert for anti-surge and severe service control valve applications

Support commercial operations and sales engineering teams with:

Application guidance
-
Product specification
-
Technical solution development
-

Define and standardize application guidelines to ensure optimal technical and commercial solutions

Collaborate with engineering and product management on product development, customization, and certifications

Support vendor list approvals and RFQ capability development
-
Develop market-level pricing and service insights
-
Analyze competitive offerings and help differentiate solutions in anti-surge and severe service environments

Create and deliver technical training materials to elevate internal expertise across regions

Contribute directly to increased bookings, revenue, and profitability through technical leadership
Required Qualifications

Deep expertise in anti-surge valves and severe service control valve applications
-
Strong understanding of compressor systems, turbomachinery, and high-pressure / high ΔP services

10 years of experience in one or more of the following:

Application Engineering
-
Technical Sales / Sales Engineering

Commercial Operations
-
Related technical roles supporting complex valve solutions

Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and commercial audiences

Proven ability to develop professional reports, presentations, and technical documentation

Creative, solution-oriented mindset with a strong customer focus

Willingness to travel globally 50% or more
Preferred Qualifications

Degree in Engineering or a related technical field (not required)

Background supporting severe service, compressor, or turbomachinery-related applications
