CNC Mill Machinist (2nd & Weekend Shift)

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Hours:
3:30 PM - 2:00 AM (Monday - Thursday) 
6:00am - 6:30pm (Fri-Sun) 6:00am-10:00am Monday
Training on 1st shift (for 2 weeks) is required before transitioning to 2nd shift.


Job Description:
As a CNC Mill Machinist, you will be responsible for shaping metal and various materials to precise dimensions using advanced machine tools. You will plan, set up, and execute the correct sequence of machine operations based on blueprints, layouts, or other technical instructions, writing both manual and computer-generated machine programs as necessary. This role requires proficiency in the use of various hand tools, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments to ensure accuracy.

In today's manufacturing environment, the ability to read blueprints, perform basic shop math, use measurement tools, and communicate effectively using CNC and machine tool terminology is essential to success in this role.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Operate CNC milling machines to fabricate components per design specifications.
  • Interpret and follow blueprints, layouts, and technical instructions.
  • Write and troubleshoot manual and computer-generated CNC programs.
  • Use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, gauges, and calipers.
  • Perform setup and adjustment of machinery to maintain high levels of accuracy.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure workflow efficiency and meet production goals.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in mathematics and basic shop math.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
  • Skilled in the use of hand tools and bench work.
  • Experience with manual machine tool operations.
  • Expertise in precision measuring and layout.
  • Knowledge of CNC and conversational machine tool operations.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with CNC software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
