The Manufacturing Engineering Manager is a hands-on leader responsible for driving manufacturing excellence across Engineering, Production, and Quality functions. This role maintains a strong presence on the shop floor, working directly with engineers and operators to improve safety, quality, productivity, and cost performance. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on leadership and daily support to Manufacturing Engineering and Quality teams, with active engagement on the production floor.
- Lead and manage change management initiatives, ensuring new processes, technologies, and standards are successfully implemented and embraced.
- Drive collaboration between Engineering, Production, and Quality to improve operational performance.
- Champion Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to eliminate waste and improve efficiency.
- Optimize plant layout, equipment utilization, and material flow to increase throughput and reduce costs.
- Develop and execute strategies to improve production efficiency, quality, and overall manufacturing performance.
- Analyze KPIs such as OEE, scrap, yield, and downtime to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Lead the adoption of new manufacturing technologies, automation, and process improvements.
- Ensure all manufacturing processes and documentation comply with the Quality Management System (ISO 9001).
- Manage team performance, including goal setting, reviews, coaching, training, and corrective action.
- Support employee health, safety, and environmental compliance through active leadership and accountability.
- Perform additional duties as needed to support business objectives.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Manufacturing, Mechanical, Industrial, or related discipline)
- 5 years of progressive manufacturing engineering experience
- 3 years in a leadership or supervisory role
- Demonstrated success leading manufacturing change initiatives in a production environment
- Hands-on leadership style with the ability to work directly with engineers and operators
- Strong change management capability, including driving adoption of new processes and tools
- Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma expertise
- Experience with CAD/CAM software
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving ability
- Highly organized and detail-oriented
- Excellent people leadership and communication skills
