This role provides senior-level reservoir engineering expertise across reserves evaluation, dynamic modeling, field development planning, and production optimization for offshore oil and gas assets. The Senior Reservoir Engineer delivers high-quality technical analysis to support reserves growth, production forecasting, and investment decisions across the full asset life cycle—from exploration through development and production.
The position works closely with geoscience, wells, facilities, and production teams to integrate subsurface interpretations with operational data and optimize field performance in deepwater environments.
Reserves & Economic Evaluation
- Prepare regulatory-compliant reserves estimates, including production forecasts, CAPEX, OPEX, abandonment costs, and economic assessments
- Support reserves certification and audit processes in coordination with internal teams and third-party evaluators
- Recommend reserves and resources classifications and production profiles
- Build, maintain, and update dynamic reservoir simulation models using industry-standard tools
- Develop integrated reservoir flow models (numerical and analytical) to support forecasting and optimization
- Perform material balance, decline curve analysis, and pressure transient analysis
- Incorporate geophysical, petrophysical, geological, and fluid data into dynamic models
- Develop field development concepts, well strategies, and operating scenarios to maximize recovery and production
- Evaluate sensitivities, risks, and uncertainties associated with development and operational plans
- Diagnose well and field performance and recommend production optimization and intervention strategies
- Identify and evaluate EOR/IOR opportunities including water injection, gas lift, subsea boosting, and related technologies
- Conduct reservoir surveillance including pressure behavior, production history, well test interpretation, and facility performance
- Interpret PVT data and dynamic rock properties
- Recommend and implement reservoir data acquisition and monitoring plans
- Maintain and manage reservoir engineering databases
- Collaborate with geoscience, wells, production, and facilities teams to ensure integrated technical solutions
- Provide reservoir engineering input to exploration opportunities and development decision packages
- Contribute to portfolio optimization and asset value enhancement initiatives
- Promote best practices in reservoir engineering workflows, modeling, and evaluation
- Recommend reserves classifications, production forecasts, and development concepts
- Identify opportunities to increase reserves, improve recovery, and enhance production performance
- Provide technical recommendations supporting capital investment and operational decisions
- Support peer reviews and internal governance processes to ensure technical rigor
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Petroleum Engineering required
- Master's degree or PhD preferred
- 10 years of reservoir engineering experience in offshore or deepwater environments
- Strong background in complex reservoir modeling, forecasting, and reserves reporting
- Experience developing field development scenarios and production strategies
- Prior experience with major operators or large independents strongly preferred
- Demonstrated exposure to deepwater U.S. Gulf of Mexico assets
