Job Summary

The Process Improvement Co-Op will support manufacturing operations at an industrial roller and insulation manufacturing facility by identifying, analyzing, and improving production processes on the shop floor. This role provides hands-on exposure to real-world manufacturing challenges while working closely with engineering, production, and quality teams. The co-op will contribute to initiatives that enhance safety, efficiency, quality, and throughput.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe and analyze production floor processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and improvement opportunities

  • Assist with process improvement projects focused on safety, quality, cost, and delivery

  • Support data collection, time studies, and workflow analysis

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Lean, 5S, Kaizen, or Six Sigma activities

  • Help develop and update standard work instructions, process documentation, and visual aids

  • Collaborate with production operators, supervisors, and engineers to implement improvements

  • Track and report results of implemented process changes

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing, or related field) or a similar technical program

  • Strong interest in manufacturing and process improvement

  • Basic understanding of Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement principles (preferred)

  • Ability to work on the production floor in an industrial environment

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and basic data analysis
