Job Title: Shipping & Receiving Lead
Location: Rochester, NY
Job Summary: NESCO Resource has partnered with a leading manufacturing company to hire a Shipping & Receiving Lead for a direct-impact opportunity within a fast-paced production environment. This role is responsible for leading daily shipping and receiving operations, coordinating schedules, and ensuring all orders meet quality, delivery, and compliance requirements.
The ideal candidate is hands-on, detail-oriented, and experienced in domestic and international shipping processes, with a strong ability to lead teams and drive continuous improvement through Lean and 5S principles.
Shift & Pay:

Pay Range: $24.00 – $28.00 per hour (based on experience)

Shift: Day shift (exact hours to be discussed)
Key Responsibilities:

Lead day-to-day shipping and receiving department operations.

Operate lift trucks or hand trucks to move materials to designated departments.

Prepare and file AES documentation for international shipments.

Create and manage daily shipping schedules using JDE.

Coordinate team workload, staffing, and resource requirements.

Maintain accurate inventory of shipping materials and supplies.

Perform required computer functions to track shipments, WIP, and inventory.

Ship products via LTL carriers, FedEx, and UPS, including use of customer portals when required.

Create and maintain spreadsheets tracking incoming and outgoing WIP materials.

Ensure all completed work meets quality and customer specifications.

Train and certify team members to meet departmental and safety objectives.

Communicate key issues, delays, or stoppages to management in a timely manner.

Motivate team members to meet goals related to quality, delivery, inventory, and cost.

Promote teamwork and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies.
Qualifications:

Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Experience: Minimum of 2 years of factory-related shipping and receiving experience.

Prior experience with AES filing for international shipments required.

Forklift certification required.

Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

Ability to read, write, and follow verbal and written instructions in English.

Comfortable using computers, spreadsheets, and shipping systems.

Strong organizational, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
Physical Demands:

Frequently lift and move items over 30 lbs.

Stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the shift.

Perform repetitive tasks in an active warehouse environment.

Must have full visual acuity including close vision, distance vision, color recognition, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, airborne particles, and elevated noise levels.
