Project Engineer Long-term contract role, 12mos Location: Rochester, NY Pay Rate: $60–$75 per hour, based on experience
Overview Seeking a Project Engineer to support plant operations by managing capital projects ranging from ~$10K to $5MM. This role partners with cross-functional teams and contractors to execute projects safely, on schedule, and within budget in a PSM and GMP-regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities Manage capital projects from concept through execution Develop scopes, schedules, and budgets while ensuring PSM and GMP compliance Track milestones and communicate project status to stakeholders Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies Oversee contractor performance, safety, and engineering standards Support operations, engineering, and maintenance teams Participate in technical and safety reviews (P&IDs, HAZOPs, PHAs, Mechanical Integrity)
Qualifications BS in Chemical, Mechanical, or related Engineering (Chemical preferred) 4 years of engineering or project experience Exposure to capital projects in manufacturing or chemical environments preferred Working knowledge of cGMP and process improvement concepts Strong Microsoft Office and Excel skills Clear communicator with a collaborative, safety-focused approach
Additional Details Individual contributor role (no direct reports) Responsible for delivering projects on time and within budget Operates with general supervision and day-to-day autonomy
