Shift
First: 5am - 3:30pm Monday - Friday
Work under the direction of a Supervisor to weld parts together with various methods, best suited for each job.
Welder functions include but are not limited to any and/or all of the following, depending on experience.
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:
- Read blueprints/specifications.
- Adjust machine heat settings for material and thickness.
- Determine proper weld filler rod, or wire diameter.
- Mig weld per process.
- Tig weld per process.
- Continually check parts with hand tools and weld fixture for cosmetic appearance of weld.
- Make weld fixtures for new parts, prototypes.
SECONDARY FUNCTIONS:
- Complete related paperwork (move tickets, quality check sheets, router information.)
- Clean-up work area and the end of each shift.
- Communicate job information to succeeding shift.
- Communicate problems and improvement ideas to Team Leader.
- PM welding machine
- Perform maintenance work of welding equipment and fixtures.
- Perform any other incidental functions related to the classification and those created by change in methods/procedures, as well as equipment.
REQUIREMENTS:
Read, understand and follow written and oral instructions. Frequent physical functions; walk, bend push pull, grasp, and other unnatural positions. Physical effort required for frequent lifting, up to 50 lbs., on a regular daily basis.
Observe Great Lakes Manufacturing work and attendance rules and safety practices, including the use of safety glasses with side shields, safety shoes, and hand protection.
