Field Calibration Technician

Role Summary
The Field Calibration Technician performs on-site calibration of measurement and test equipment (M&TE) at customer facilities within an assigned regional territory (typically within an 8-hour radius). When not traveling, the technician supports the local calibration laboratory.
This is a Monday–Friday, travel-based role with frequent overnight stays during the week. Technicians are home on weekends approximately 95% of the time. All travel and lodging expenses are covered by the company.
Key Responsibilities
Calibrate measurement and test equipment to manufacturer specifications
Identify and document out-of-tolerance conditions for customer equipment and standards
Perform adjustments and minor repairs when equipment is out of tolerance
Accurately complete calibration documentation and service records
Maintain calibration standards in compliance with quality requirements
Provide feedback and recommendations related to calibration practices
Communicate professionally with customers regarding service findings and needs
Submit required travel, service, and administrative documentation
Perform additional duties as assigned
Travel Requirements
Monday–Friday travel to customer sites
Overnight travel during the workweek (company-paid)
Home on weekends most of the time
Required Qualifications
Calibration experience and/or equivalent training with commercial and/or biomedical M&TE
Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation
Professional customer-facing communication skills
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and basic database systems
Valid driver’s license with 3 years of driving experience and acceptable driving record
Education & Experience
Associate degree in a technical field OR
2–5 years of relevant calibration experience or training
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered
Preferred Qualifications
Military PMEL training
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures
Effective organizational and time-management skills
Clear verbal and written communication abilities
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods (up to 8 hours per day)
Frequent handling of tools and equipment
Regular lifting up to 50 lbs; occasional lifting up to 75 lbs
Ability to maneuver a 400-lb cart within service areas
Occasional walking, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling
