A client of ours has a need for a Junior Desktop Support Technician for their Danbury, CT office. This is an onsite contract position.
JOB SUMMARY
The Junior Desktop Support Technician is responsible for responding in a timely manner to helpdesk tickets for onsite as well as remote employees. This position helps end users resolve IT related issues, install software, troubleshoot problems, verify network connectivity, support printer as well as other application issues as well as resolve employee end user related IT issues.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
- Respond in a timely manner to all helpdesk tickets for onsite and mobile sales.
- Assist end users with all basic IT related issues.
- Escalate as necessary if unable to resolve to other team members.
- Provide software support to end users including laptop imaging, installation, laptop configuration, software troubleshooting and escalation, ticket routing, etc.
- Provide hardware support as well as basic troubleshooting tasks to ensure users hardware is effective in allowing them to perform their job duties.
- Use Empirum software distribution application to roll out computers as well as other software.
- Work closely with key production personnel tasked with supporting production equipment.
- Assist with IT related needs including help with workstations and network connectivity.
- Understand different VLAN network segments in the Danbury office and ensure equipment is connected to the appropriate network. Able to perform basic network troubleshooting.
- Responsible for shipping systems configuration, compatibility, testing, documentation and shipping systems support.
- Work closely with System and Network Administrator on all IT related issues and projects
- Responsible for printer maintenance and service requests.
- Install workstations and laptop docking stations as well as test connectivity for new users and move any IT related equipment as necessary.
- Participate in maintaining IT equipment inventory.
- Cross train on any and all IT functions to ensure technical knowledge and resources are available to meet critical business needs.
- Take detailed notes on troubleshooting efforts taken and if unable to resolve issues, report as necessary to for escalation to the rest of the team.
REQUIREMENTS
- Thorough knowledge of computer hardware and Microsoft Windows 11.
- At least an intermediate level of knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 components.
- Familiarity with networking systems and hardware a plus.
- Ability to learn computer related technology quickly.
- Ability to logically analyze and troubleshoot computer hardware and software problems in an expedient manner while exercising necessary caution.
- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate clearly and patience in dealing with end users.
- Looking for a candidate with 2-3 years of experience.
