Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic (Truck and Equipment)
Location: New Castle PA
Hours: Monday to Friday 7 am to 5:30 pm and possible Saturdays
Key Responsibilities
Maintenance & Repairs:
- Inspect, diagnose, and perform minor to moderate repairs on trucks, trailers, and heavy equipment.
- Support the maintenance team with scheduled preventive maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and compliance standards.
Parts & Inventory Management:
- Source and order parts, materials, and supplies from approved vendors.
- Maintain accurate records of inventory, warranties, and usage.
- Track and control parts costs and ensure timely replenishment.
- Develop relationships with suppliers to secure cost-effective and reliable parts procurement.
Administrative & Coordination Duties:
- Maintain maintenance logs, work orders, and service records in the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
- Assist with scheduling and coordinating equipment downtime to minimize operational disruption.
- Communicate with drivers and supervisors about vehicle conditions, repair status, and parts availability.
Qualifications
- 3 years of experience as a Truck or Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Maintenance Technician, or similar role.
- Strong understanding of diesel engines, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.
- Proven experience in parts ordering, inventory control, and vendor management.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and work orders.
- Basic computer literacy for record-keeping and parts management.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
