The shift will be days. 7:00 – 8:30 AM start . Assuming an 8 hour work day with a 30 min lunch. There is flexibility with the start time – it could be anywhere between 7:00 – 8:30 AM.

Position Summary:
The Flavor Science Technician will have the general responsibility of lab functions for the Technical Flavor Science team by preparing samples and conducting benchtop experiments at the direction of a Scientist. The primary goals of this position are: ensure laboratory activities meet/exceed technical, safety and efficiency goal and assist the Scientist in project execution.

Job Description:
Compound batches for evaluations of alternate raw materials/substitutions and maintain thorough documentation.

Conduct sensory evaluations of products to assess taste, smell, appearance, and overall quality

Establish a solid understanding of Wild Software Management Systems to complete research, record notes, and generate shipments.

Assist in sample preparation and lab inventory management. Monitor and stock ingredients for use in sampling ensuring all ingredients are properly stored and correctly received from the sampling team.

Perform technical analysis on samples & record results in project files. Understand and perform basic math conversions.

Maintain general lab cleanliness, organization, and safety standards.

Take personal responsibility to engage in plant and food safety practices to prevent hazards that cause foodborne illness or injury and provide a clean, safe work environment and quality products.

Perform other related duties and assignments as required.

Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a science related area with expertise in food science, nutrition, quality, or chemistry preferred.

1 years of experience as a Lab Technician in a similar field (preferred).

Highly organized and detailed oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, work independently and meet established deadlines.

Able to identify subtle differences in sensory characteristics

Problem identification and problem-solving skills.

Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills.

A team player ready to contribute to a thriving culture.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Knowledge of computer software applications.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Standing, walking, sitting, and lifting.
