Job Overview
The Engineering Clerk supports the Engineering Department by managing technical documentation, performing accurate data entry, and facilitating the flow of information between departments. This role plays a key part in maintaining up-to-date engineering records, including routings, manufacturing drawings, and continuous improvement of data. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working with various software tools to ensure data integrity and operational efficiency.
A Day in the Life
· Create, update, and maintain engineering documentation such as:
o Manufacturing routings
o Technical drawings
o Bill of materials (BOMs)
o Process instructions
· Ensure accuracy and consistency of data across systems and documents.
· Coordinate with cross-functional teams (Production, Quality, Purchasing, etc.) to gather and distribute data.
· Support continuous improvement initiatives by maintaining and analyzing engineering data.
· Perform data entry and document control tasks using Microsoft Office Suite and SAP.
· Assist in preparing reports, presentations, and documentation for internal usage.
· Maintain organized digital and physical filing systems for engineering records.
· Monitor document revision control and ensure compliance with company standards.
What will help you thrive in this role?
· High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree or technical certification preferred.
· 2 years of experience in an administrative or clerical role, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
· Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems is strongly preferred.
· Strong organizational and time management skills.
· Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
· Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
· Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
· Familiarity with engineering terminology and manufacturing processes.
· Experience with document control system
