Job Summary:
The 5-Axis Laser Operator is responsible for setting up, programming, and operating 5-axis laser cutting machines to produce precision metal components according to engineering drawings and specifications. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and an understanding of CNC laser cutting processes.
Key Responsibilities:

Set up, program, and operate 5-axis laser cutting machines to cut and trim metal parts.

Interpret and work from blueprints, CAD drawings, and work orders.

Adjust machine parameters (speed, focus, gas pressure, etc.) to ensure optimal cutting quality and efficiency.

Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of laser machines, lenses, and nozzles.

Inspect finished parts using precision measuring tools to ensure compliance with tolerances and quality standards.

Monitor machine performance and troubleshoot issues as they arise.

Load and unload materials safely, using lifting devices when necessary.

Maintain accurate production and quality records.

Follow all safety procedures and company policies.

Collaborate with engineers, programmers, and quality personnel to optimize cutting processes.
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; technical/vocational training preferred.

Minimum 2–3 years of experience operating CNC or laser cutting equipment (5-axis experience strongly preferred).

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and GD&T.

Proficiency with CNC programming software (e.g., Siemens, Fanuc, or similar).

Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.

Understanding of sheet metal fabrication and materials (steel, aluminum, stainless, etc.).

Knowledge of laser cutting technology and safety practices.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Standing, walking, bending, and reaching throughout the shift.

Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
Preferred Skills (Optional):

Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Mastercam).

Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.

Prior experience in aerospace, automotive, or precision manufacturing.
