BASIC FUNCTION
Responsible for providing advanced technical support and administration for servers, networks, and related IT infrastructure. This role includes configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, and optimization of Windows/Linux servers, network components, and associated systems. Supports local and remote sites, resolves complex technical issues, and manages medium to large projects under general supervision.

ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES
• Administer and maintain Windows Server, Microsoft SQL Server, and virtualized environments (Windows/Linux).
• Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network components (Cisco, Juniper, Aruba) and wireless systems.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for servers, networks, and client systems, including after-hours support.
• Perform preventative maintenance: monitoring, patching, space management, and security updates.
• Analyze and resolve technical problems for servers and established networks; document resolutions.
• Implement hardware/software upgrades and support local operational applications.
• Gather business and security requirements for server and network provisioning; ensure compliance with architectural and security standards.
• Recommend add-on technologies and customizations to improve operational efficiency.
• Coordinate with SCADA and Process Control teams for best practices and security alignment.
• Write clear documentation and provide training (procedures, guides).
• Relocate and install technical equipment as needed.
• Manage medium to large projects and special assignments as directed.

EXPERIENCE
Minimum 5 years of combined server and network administration experience.

EDUCATION
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

REQUIRED SKILLS
• Advanced knowledge of server and network administration, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SMTP, firewalls, NAT, subnetting.
• Experience with Cisco, Juniper, Aruba networking and wireless systems.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to document configurations and optimize topologies.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

PREFERRED SKILLS
• Certifications: Microsoft (MCSA, MCSE), Cisco (CCNA, CCNP), Juniper (JNCIA), CompTIA (A , N ), ITIL Foundation.
• Experience with scripting (PowerShell, VBScript).

WORK CONDITIONS
• Office-based but with rare travel as needed
• Exposure to refinery environments, confined spaces, rotating equipment, and electrical hazards.
• On-call availability; may require nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
• Ability to lift/push/pull up to 50 lbs, climb up to 15 ft, and wear PPE as needed.
• Valid driver's license and ability to operate company vehicles as needed.
