Project Manager – Substation Construction

What You'll Do
As Project Manager, you'll oversee all phases of engineering, procurement, and construction for substation projects from concept to completion. You'll serve as the key liaison between internal teams, subcontractors, and clients—ensuring safe, efficient, and on-budget project delivery.
Key Responsibilities

Lead all aspects of project execution—engineering coordination, procurement, subcontractor management, field operations, and commissioning.

Prepare bids, proposals, and cost estimates; negotiate contracts and change orders.

Manage construction schedules, budgets, and progress reporting to ensure timely completion.

Direct pre-construction services, including constructability reviews and risk assessments.

Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans covering quality, safety, and environmental standards.

Mentor and train superintendents and foremen on job planning, safety programs, and compliance.

Drive continuous improvement in site quality, safety performance, and stakeholder communication.

Maintain customer satisfaction by anticipating needs, resolving issues, and building long-term partnerships.

Ensure compliance with all QA/QC, safety, and regulatory requirements.

Travel as needed to project sites to support hands-on oversight and collaboration.
What You Bring

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration; or 8 years of equivalent experience in field supervision or project leadership.

Utility or substation construction experience strongly preferred.

Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide cross-functional teams.

Strong background in project budgeting, cost tracking, and risk mitigation.

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management software.
