Payroll Specialist
Position Summary
The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and compliant payroll tax processing, including statutory withholdings, legal charges, and multi-state payroll tax requirements. This role focuses on backend payroll operations after payroll has been processed, requiring strong experience in payroll tax, state agency communications, and third-party coordination.



Key Responsibilities
  • Process payroll tax payments and filings, including social security, employee guarantee fund, income tax, and labor dues.
  • Manage tax notices, respond to inquiries from state agencies, and coordinate with tax providers.
  • Prepare and process payments related to employee dismissals, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
  • Maintain accurate payroll and tax records, ensuring alignment with company policies and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to resolve discrepancies and support internal and external audits.
  • Handle high-volume payroll tax tasks with accuracy and attention to detail.


Qualifications
  • 2–3 years of payroll tax processing experience, preferably multi-state.
  • Strong knowledge of payroll processes, labor laws, and statutory requirements.
  • Experience working with state agencies, tax notices, third-party authorizations, and powers of attorney.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Strong analytical skills, high attention to detail, and commitment to confidentiality.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.


Education
  • High school diploma (required).
  • Additional coursework in Accounting, Finance, or HR a plus.
