Summary of objectives:
The Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing diversified duties to install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production and facility equipment.
Essential Functions:
Work safely, identify unsafe conditions, and take action to mitigate.
Monitor machinery for impending malfunctions
Perform diagnostic testing, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical and electrical equipment including wiring circuits, control devices, PLC's, motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, power transmission, heating/cooling equipment, and hoists.
Locate, retrieve, and stage parts using a forklift and hoist
Fabricate using a band saw, drill press, grinder, acetylene torch, welding machine, lathe, milling machine, etc.
Install new or modified equipment
Perform preventive maintenance tasks, including lubricating, replacing filters, inspecting, etc.
Provide hands-on direction to contractors
Assists in procuring parts and supplies
Prepare repairable assets for shipment to contractors
Use the internet to find information related to parts, repair procedures, etc.
Read and understand equipment manuals, schematics, drawings, and wiring diagrams
Complete paperwork (logs, checklists, etc.)
Maintain housekeeping in work area
Train new employees on-the-job
Ability to communicate with production technicians and fellow coworkers in a professional manor.
Offer ideas for improving the performance of the operations
Work overtime as required

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift or move parts and supplies, up to 50 lbs.

High school diploma or equivalent
Two years of related experience

Will follow established programs, policies, and practices to produce film solutions that meet regulatory, ISO, SQF, and company requirements. Will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Quality Management Systems. Accountable to the PSI's Food Safety & Quality policy.
